ON PLOTKIN’S MEDICINE WHEEL AND THE BODY

The Discover your True Earth Based Jewish Purpose class has just started working with Plotkin’s Medicine Wheel. I’ve put two different versions below, one from an internal perspective and one from how others see us.

Gabrielle said, oh, “this feels like a natural alignment with the associations I already have with these parts of the body.” The North is the masculine leader archetype the South is the wild erotic energy. The left is associated with feminine and dark energy and the right with the masculine and transcendence. Jared adds that this looks like a body, minus the legs with the head in the north and the pelvic area in the south. I’d never thought of it that way until Gabrielle mentioned it; that’s one of the great joys of teaching.

This all aligns with the energetics of the Head and the right being masculine, and the left and the pelvic area being feminine. Plotkin himself recognizes this when he talks about the West and the South being the areas of female energy and therefore the two areas that are most repressed in our patriarchal society.

I thought this was just wonderful, so I Jared wanted to share it. I’ll be incorporating this when I teach it in the future.
