WHY THIS PROGRAM

This program is designed for spiritual seekers who are committed to self development and want to find their true purpose and ground it in our tradition.  

The program focuses on clarifying and marrying two distinct maps.  One map is Bill Plotkin’s map from Journey of Soul Initiation.  Why this map? Because it is the most powerful map I know to describe the process of becoming spiritually mature.  It’s a map I wish I had in my journey. 

The second map is a map of the spiritual development built into the Jewish calendar, centered around the three ancient pilgrimage holidays of Pesach, Shavuot and Sukkot. I believe strongly that humans need to be grounded in traditions and communities. This lack of grounding is a crucial problem in our world; it leaves us feeling adrift, not knowing who we truly are or where we belong.  

We Jews (though you don’t have to be Jewish to participate in the program) are blessed to have a somewhat intact tradition.  It is a rich tradition, full of different possibilities that we can reclaim.  As committed as I am to being a Jew, I’m a really idiosyncratic Jew and you are going to get exposed to a very different reading of our tradition, including the ecological/spiritual origins of the holidays and the worship of the Goddess during the summer dry months.
